It was a close race; it's a difficult task to determine a winner because all movies are so great ! Movie judgment: Rules 1. A detailed judgment, the following criteria: NOTE: This judgment will count 2 times - Intro - Music Choice and Sound Editing (does it fit the scenes) - FadeIn / FadeOut (how did he/she realize the end of a scene/ introduction of a new scene) - Cutting (are there any unnecessary scenes, choice of scenes) - Content (is the content good, is it boring, full of action,exciting,scary,funny,monotonous etc.) - Outro - Additional Points (for the presentation, thumbnails, background information,creativity etc.) - Try to be objective! ( do not judge to harsh ) For every criteria you can give 1 - 10 points! 2. A one sentence judgment + points: NOTE: This judgment will count 1 time - Write a short summary or just 1 sentence what you like/dislike about the movie. Use the criteria above and compare the movie, then give your points (0 - 70 points) - Try to be objective! ( do not judge to harsh ) #1 Lineage 2 Interlude PTS - I am the Scatman! __________________________________________________________________________________________ Intro: 9/10 Points I's an open beginning because Bashinteroth doesn't use the title to introduce his movie. Only 9 points because the title is missing completly. Music Choice: 10/10 Points The movie is absolutely in harmony with the track "I am the Scatman"; if it's a fast passage the scenes change fast, if it's a slow passage they change slowly. Bashinteroth makes use of picture-in-picture effects, those pictures move corresponding to the rythm of the song. "I am the Scatman" is basically the basis of this movie. FadeIn/FadeOut: 9/10 Bashinteroth doesn't use many fade in/out, simply because it's not necessary. It's a constant change of scenes, sometimes so fast that we can't even perceive it. That's what makes this movie so unique, it's all about fast impressions and rhythm. There are some fadeout's when the moving picture inside the picture fades aways, it's well done could be a faster fadeout although: Min.1:43 Cutting: 10/10 Like mentioned above it's all about impressions, therefore it's a fast change between scenes. Usually you can follow both, the picture inside the picture and the picture itself (sounds confusing). Can't find anything negative here 10/10! Content: 9/10 Points The task was to fraps "anything", however you can still judge the "theme" of a movie. He concentrates on presenting the way to the new territory (primeval isle) and the isle itself (t-rex, stealth etc.). Aside from that some PvP is presented (mainly arena but also one castle siege) and some random areas (rune, godard, c5 territory, starter town etc). One extraordinary scene is the dancing TK, well done! His main theme is the presentation of Interlude PTS impressions (this includes mainly the isle and the arena) underlined by the song "I am the Scatman". However he does not present the chaos and the arena is presented a little bit too long, he gives no real variety. Outro: 4/10 Unfortunately there is no credit roll nor a real outro. However Bashinteroth makes use of a slow fade-out to end his movie, it seems to be completed, therefore 4 points are still justified. Additional points: 7/10 Points I give him 9 additional points for the creative idea to use "I am the Scatman" to underline the PTS impressions. However I reduce it the additional points to 7, because the quality of the movie wasn't that good (Min. 0:12 - 0:16) overall (especially in fast scenes). 58/70 Points __________________________________________________________________________________________ __________________________________________________________________________________________ #2 Lineage 2 Interlude PTS- Fury Unyielding __________________________________________________________________________________________ Intro: 9/10 Points The tracking shot on the boat is the introduction, it's an open beginning because Jason doesn't use the title to introduce his movie. Only 9 points because the title is missing completly. Music Choice: 8/10 Points The music choice absolutely fit to the scenes and it creates an "epic" feeling but also underlines the action going on. However I give only 8 points because there were some small mistakes: Min. 1:43 You can hear that the music ends but it does not calm down completly; then another track starts and suddenly there is another scene and another track begins. While I was watching it the very first time that was the only detail which disturbed the "flow". Same at min. 3:54, the "bridge" between the two scenes could be better. FadeIn/FadeOut: 10/10 Jason doesn't use many fade in/out, simply because it's not necessary. Usually it's a simple line of scenes, he tends to use short black screens to create "segments", I didn't find any crossfades. That's a pretty good method to maintain action and does not disturb the flow. Cutting: 10/10 There is one good example here how to present new stuff. From min. 1:00 to 1:35 he presents several raid bosses, first it's a fast change between scenes and then it becomes slower and slower until the next segment. Pretty good! All scenes are necessary and it never becomes boring so that you might loose interest in watching it. Can't find anything negative here 10/10! Content: 9/10 Points The task was to fraps "anything", however you can still judge the "theme" of a movie. He concentrates on presenting the new territory (primeval isle) and the new raid bosses including the new npc Gordon. Aside from that some raids inside the towns are presented as well as new accesoires, feline king, new weapons. His main theme becomes clearly visible not only by the title; it's the presentation of the chaos on the PTS as well as the dawn of a new era. However in relation to the title "fury unyielding" it's missing a main thread, the bridge between the segments could be better in general. Outro: 10/10 Very creative outro. First of all it's mentionable that Jason hasn't created a simple credit roll. Especially the last scenes present some of the new Interlude stuff (primeval isle, new accesoires, feline king, new weapons). The very last scene is well chosen, that's definetly one of the best parts of the movie. Additional points: 5/10 Points I give him 5 additional points for the good quality (download it and you will see what I mean). Compressing a movie is not always easy and 80MB for more than 5minutes is good. 61/70 Points __________________________________________________________________________________________ __________________________________________________________________________________________ #3 Lineage 2 Interlude PTS- L2Glawldiator __________________________________________________________________________________________ Intro: 9/10 Points Cptyesterday introduces the movie similar to fury unyielding with the primeval isle, but he uses the first person view until the "Glawldiator" meets an orc on the isle itself. The conversion is the main introduction (long intro 0:00 - 2:00). The title is used to present the movie at min.2:02. The intro is 2 minutes long, the whole movie 4:50, the main part could be longer. Music Choice: 10/10 Points The movie fits to the scenes. During the conversation ingame sounds (emotes, primeval isle background) are used to create atmosphere. When the main part begins, the music changes (a fast but also dramatical) to underline the action. It's well chosen. Min.3:36 (There is a scene change that is perfectly fitting the music) FadeIn/FadeOut: 9/10 To create segments cptyesterday makes use of picture-in-picture effects (4in1). I have noticed some really short black fadeouts but they were probably not intended. Min.4:27-28 There is a very short fade-to-black. A slow fadeout would fit here better. Cutting: 10/10 Similar to "I am the Scatman" cptyesterday makes use of a rotating camera to present several fights. There aren't any unneccesary scenes; blurs and flashs make this movie very attractive! Content: 8/10 Points The task was to fraps "anything", however you can still judge the "theme" of a movie. He concentrates on presenting the way of the Gladiator through the new territory (primeval isle), some fights (t-rex) and several olympiad duels in the end. The isle could be presented better, we only get to see few parts of it and mainly the fight between a t-rex and mixed people. The duels were presented good if you consider that he presents several fights not only one. There is one logical mistake: 00:51 The orc is going to make some armor for the Gladiator but he already has one. Outro: 2/10 The "fat kid" is the outro; the idea behind it is indeed funny and it's well edited, however the outro comes all of a sudden and the movie ends very very abruptly. A credit roll is missing as well (especially since he included a movie excerpt). The kid doesn't really fit to the movie either, so basically there is no real outro. Additional points: 10/10 Points Less than 10 points are not justifid. Cptyesterday makes use of so many special effects (glowing gladiator, blurs, flashs, flying glowing lines, gladiator with lens flare,even the font "Lineage 2 Interlude" is edited) that those alone would justify 10 points. The quality of the movie is awesome and like mentioned above the effects are very attractive. Cpt's idea to use a movie excerpt is also great. 58/70 Points __________________________________________________________________________________________ __________________________________________________________________________________________ #4 Lineage 2 Interlude PTS - Random Chaos __________________________________________________________________________________________ Intro: 10/10 Points EllieBelly introduces the movie with the takeover of Gludio Castle; the protagonists are presented here. The title is used to present the movie. Music Choice: 7/10 Points After the takeover the action begins, the music changes accordingly. The songtext is well integrated here and fits to the current scene. Similar to "I am the scatman" the music plays an important role in this movie, but it's a slow music which causes a loss of excitment (see below) FadeIn/FadeOut: 10/10 Scene changes are done by very attractive crossfades from one scene into another. The created effect is appropriate for presenting a lot of stuff and not just a few parts. However Cutting: 7/10 The movie shows several ingame sequences to present the raid bosses in an appropiate manner. The movie is arresting the attention, there is a clear line we can follow. However the movie is sometimes monotonously, a lack of action and excitement (compare with fury unyielding) makes it a little bit long-winded. Content: 10/10 Points The task was to fraps "anything", however you can still judge the "theme" of a movie. She concentrates on presenting the ForumJerks (POV: ElliBelly and AmberDrake onetime) killing the raid bosses. The new content of Interlude and the chaos on the PTS is the main theme. In contrast to the other movies more content is presented. Raid Bosses: Scarlet van Halisha, Queen Ant, Baium, Valakas, Roaring Skylancer, Antharas including his new miniosn the Behemoth Dragons and Ember. Other Content: Weapon augementation, Feline King, omega rabbits, Gordon and some dinos. Outro: 9/10 The death of Scarlet van Halisha is used to introduce the outro. 3:54 - 5:07 A flight through the world of Aden is used to give credit to ForumJerks alliance, clan members and Mistryl/Omega. It's a long outro but very attractive. It's missing the music copyright notes. Additional points: 7/10 Points It's a high-quality movie with a lot of content. It offers a clear overview of the PTS Chaos and new Interlude content; Random Chaos gives us without question the most detailed view into Interlude.
