[SK General Builds: Nuker,Fighter,Mixture]
Everyone plays a SK in a different way, everyone concentrates on something else and thats why you have to find out HOW you play. There are 3 main builds (of course there are different builds but they would all fit into one category 1. The nuker SK (concencrates on casting) 2. The strong SK (concentrates on melee) 3. A mixture of both (melee+nuke). You have to ask yourself, "how do i like to play my sk?"
C4 SETUPS Nuker SK(Recommended for High-LvL SKs, it's a PvP Setup): The nuker sk does mainly cast during pvp and will only go close for sting and a few hits. A nuker SK should get "-str +con" and "-str +dex" tats to increase various stats (shield block,speed,hp,cp,evasion), thats good to kite and nuke the enemy . With more speed,evasion you can kite a lot better and with more hp/cp you will be able to take a lot more hits. If you prefer to have more HP than more Mattack and casting speed (acumen) an overenchanted Dark Legion Edge with Health might be a good idea. Equipment low-end equipment Doom armor + an overenchanted homunk high-end equipment Dark crystal + SoM or Elemental Sword [ C5 Dark Crystal and a Health Weapon (DLE) ] Tatoos +4con -4str +4dex -4str = 38dex, 38con(DC) or 39con(Doom) optionally: +4wit -4int // various debuffs will land less Strong SK: The strong SK does mainly hit and will use debuff skills a lot more than "nuker" skills (drain health). A strong SK does obviously concentrate on the dmg output.Only SKs who really like to solo (its really good for soloing) or play a DD should go this way. Equipment low-end equipment BW Set + Damascus /Focus high-end equipment Nightmare Set + Dark Legion Edge /Critical Damage Tatoos +4str +4dex = 47str, 36dex,26con or no tatoos at all: with BW: = 44 str,32dex,31con with NM: = 41 str,32dex,34con (Bonus +2str/+4% pattack = 43 str) kholdstare's "Slayer" Sk setup(modified version of WF's "Strong SK") My ideal mage setup wouldn't even be a main setup, but more as a complimentary setup to a pure DD setup. +4INT-4WIT and an SOM w/ MAGIC POWER +4STR: *consistant* DPS of the gods. consistancy is very important. period. +4DEX: increased movement speed, crit rate, atk speed(big boost to atk speed imo) and your shield def rate(very important for a tank) -8CON: Shocking isnt it? +4INT: increase landrate of hex/powerbreak/LS/freezing strike will save mana that will keep GS/SF toggles running longer. -4WIT:as if the base 12 WIT we had was something to brag about, not :/ Equipment Maj heavy: +2STR -2CON/P atk +4%/Accuracy +4%(nifty for killing archers and daggers with high evasion)/+50% stun resistance SOM w/ MAGIC POWER Abec's SK vs DA Setup Detailed information about abec's setup here DLE with health SA.Not much to say, a health sword.25%hp boost is THE pvp help. Majestic is a VERY good armor for SK overaly.It goes like this: P. Atk. +4%, Accuracy +3, Stun Resistance +50%, STR+2 and Con-2. The best physical allround tatoo: -4 dex +4 con.With the majestic on, at the end you will have +1 accurasy. At the end Stats should look like this: Strength 43 Dexterity 30 Consitution 34 Intelligence 21 Wit 16 Mental 26 with this setup we have: (+) 25% Max hp bonus +12% Melee dmg output bonus(4% from Maj natural bonus and +8% from +2 str Maj gives. +2 Contitution ( some hp and stun ressistance) +50% Stun ressistance (Maj) +22% Casting speed +Better spell cooldowns and better root ressistanse. +1 accurasy (+3 from Maj -2 from tatoo) (-) -14% M.atk.(-4 Int) -4 Run speed -4% block rate Make sure your HP won't be too low; if you think it might be too low reduce either +str or +dex. HP = CON bonus * HP base + HP before parameter change HP base SK = 107 example: HP = 4*107+2500=2928 Thanks to DELPHI Melee/Nuker SK: [PvP + PvE Setup] A mixture of both can make use of all skills efficiently and will have a big advantage: You can decide how to pvp a specific class. You won't have to concentrate on nukes or melee attacks only and therefore you can adept to every situation. Equipment low-end equipment Doom Set + Dama (and a Homunk) high-end equipment Nightmare Set + Dark Legion Edge (and a SoM) Tatoos DooM Set: +2con -2dex = 37 str, 32 dex, 37 con NM Set: +2con -2dex; +1con -1str = 40str, 30dex, 37con (Bonus +2str/+4% pattack = 42 str) C5 SETUPS For lower levels [below 67] you should concentrate on getting levels, the strong SK might be a good way to do this. At higher levels a good setup might be the Nuker Setup with a Health Weapon. Its not the traditional nuker setup, but with the new skills given you can finnaly be the tank you are supposed to be Interlude SETUPS Any feedback and more ideas are appreciated ! What do I have to take into consideration if I add a tatoo or if I try to compare builds/sets? As a tank your shield block rate is an important factor! - DEX affects your shield block rate - Different Sets, different shield block rate - Different Buffs, different shield block rate (If you try something out consider this) Additional Information about Shield Block Rate taken from http://l2p.bravehost.com/shieldblock.html Shield Block Rate * WARNING This is purely speculation. It isn't proven or tested at all. * Shield Block Rate = Base Shield Block Rate*DEX Modifier*Shield Mastery*Buffs*Set Bonus * Attacks from bows get a huge increase in shield block rate. As a rough estimate, the boost seems to be about +0.50 (added on the end of the calculation). * The following skills "have a chance" to ignore shield block rate - Spinning Slasher, Thunder Storm, Punch of Doom, Hammer Crush, Triple Sonic Slash, Burning Fist, Soul Breaker, Hurricane Assault, Crush of Doom, Shock Blast, and Earthquake Base Shield Block Rate 0.20. Anyway DEX modifier Shield Mastery Buffs * If you have more than one of these, you multiply all of your buffs into the formula. * Buffs within the same table do not stack.
